Simbelmynë on the Burial Mounds is the sixteenth scene of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and the twenty-second scene of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (extended edition).

Synopsis

With the tomb of Théodred sealed shut, a multitude of small white flowers — Simbelmynë — is shown growing there. Théoden remarks that the flowers, which cover the graves of his ancestors, now cover that of his son. He laments that he should rule Rohan during evil times. Gandalf consoles him as he is overcome by grief.

No parent should have to bury their child.

As Gandalf leaves Théoden to mourn in privacy, he sees a horse approaching, carrying two children.
