Peleg was the son of Indor and the father of Tuor according to the early version of the Legendarium in The Book of Lost Tales. Therefore, like Tuor he probably belonged to the House of the Swan.[1] In The Silmarillion Tuor's father is Huor.[2]

In The Lay of the Fall of Gondolin, his name was changed to Fengel, name that was later used for the fifteen King of Rohan.[3]

Etymology

Peleg is Gnomish for "Axe",[4] and its Qenya cognate is Pelek.[5]
