Olo Proudfoot was a direct descendant of Bilbo Baggins's aunt Linda, and thus one of the cousins of the famous Ring-finding Hobbit. As such a close relative, Bilbo naturally invited Olo to his Farewell Party. Both Olo's father and his son - Odo and Sancho - had their own slight parts to play in the story of The Lord of the Rings, but Olo himself appears only in the genealogical charts among its appendices.
