Little Delving was a village of the Shire. It is situated to the north-east of the Westfarthing, perhaps north to its bigger counterpart, Michel Delving.[1]

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The name represents a possible Old Hobbitish form Lytel Delfing. It means "small digging".[2]

Portrayal in adaptations[edit | edit source]

2007: The Lord of the Rings Online:

Little Delving is a small village north-west of Michel Delving. Hobbit characters start their journey there after finishing the introductory instance, but afterwards very few errands ever lead the players back to Little Delving.
