King of Nargothrond was a title begun by Finrod Felagund, who founded the citadel and realm of Nargothrond. Finrod was overlord of all the Elves of West Beleriand (except the Falathrim, who were Sindar and ruled by Cirdan).[1] As a King, Finrod sat in the throne of Nargothrond and wore a silver crown.[2]

After his loss, his nephew Orodreth became Lord of Nargothrond.[3][note 1]

Notes

  1. Orodreth is never referred to as "King of Nargothrond", but only as Lord of Nargothrond.
