  • 1972: ?Mid-March: "Tolkien Seeks the Quiet Life in Oxford" (Oxford Mail, 22 March 1972)[14]
  • 1972: “More and More People are Getting the J.R.R. Tolkien Habit.” Los Angeles Times (April 9, 1972), 14,18
  • 1973: Tolkien interviewed about the Oxford Poetry Chair [Oxford Poetry Chair: ITV News 25-05-1973][15][note 1]

Notes

  1. Tolkien was asked, "presumably you voted for Mr [?]Jennings?"
"What?", replied Tolkien (he didn't hear the question).
"Presumably you voted for Mr Jennings?"
    "I did. [inaudible]".
The video then cuts away to black. Presumably this was just a way of introducing the main item. Tolkien is mentioned again and associated with Basil Blackwell as supporting Mr Jennings. (The Tolkien Society Facebook group, accessed 14 December 2013)
