Ilion was the father of Ingwë, who would later become the King of the Vanyar. He was one of the Minyar, a direct descendant of Imin and Iminyë from eldest son to eldest son, belonging to the fourth generation of Elves (i.e. a great-grandson of Imin).[1] It is unknown if he joined the Great March or remained in Cuiviénen, where he was born.
