Hallatan was the second child and only son of Cemendur, a minor noble of Númenor. He was recorded as owning land in the region of Hyarastorni, near the borders of Emerië. Hallatan would become a member of the royal family when his son married Tar-Ancalimë, the first Ruling Queen of Númenor.[1]

Etymology

Hallatan means "Tall Man" in Quenya (from halla = "tall" and Atan = "Man").
