Gurthang

'Iron of Death', the name given by Túrin Turambar to Beleg's black sword Anglachel after its reforging in Nargothrond. With it he slew Glaurung, and committed suicide. The sword was broken into two parts after this, and the shards were set beside him under the Stone of the Hapless. It is the only sword that Tolkien wrote about that actually spoke, just before taking Túrin's life, in a "ringing cold voice".
