I have finally completed all of the portals. I decided to get rid of the characters sub-portals; it would have been far too much work for little gain. I still aim to extend the locations portal to include clickable maps, but these sub-portals are still under development (I need SVGs enabled). Also, the portals make use of the show/hide feature - but for this to work for everyone I need the code from here and here copied to MediaWiki:Common.css and MediaWiki:Common.js respectively. Anyway, here they all are:

Let me know what you think of them! -- KingAragorn  talk  contribs  edits  email  12:37, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

It's very nice, though I liked the idea of featured images/articles. --Amroth 13:19, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
I don't really like the giant magnifying glass. --Ederchil (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 13:40, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
I decided to let the featured article/image idea go because I think that the portals should focus on making it as easy as possible to help people find what they want. Also, that idea would have distracted us from the featured article of the main page. Do you think that the giant magnifying glass should be removed or replaced? And, if so, what should replace it? -- KingAragorn  talk  contribs  edits  email  16:25, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
I have no idea what to replace it with. On Adaptations, it's too different in color from the other cubes. --16:54, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
I honestly don't see it as a problem. If anything, the difference in colour from the other cubes is a virtue. Anyway, isn't it good that the new portals are finished? I've spent a very long time on them and I feel like they've been received rather listlessly.-- KingAragorn  talk  contribs  edits  email  18:31, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
Make no mistake, I like them. But maybe we need custom symbols. Something that matches the logo in colour and style? It's not urgent, we can always figure that out later. --Ederchil (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 18:53, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
I have mentioned this to KingAragorn elsewhere, but I'm not a fan of the thumbnail styles because they are thieved from Wikia; I think it's a shame to lose stuff like "featured image" and "featured book" in favour of a boring list of articles. I also think Portal:Languages is actually (a lopsided) Index:Dictionary. Nonetheless, well done on actually doing them. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 19:05, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
I hope that the portals will be expanded in the future, and I think that the new design of the portals will make this easy. It's clear that you guys liked the idea of the "featured article" and "featured image" etc., so these could be implemented in the future (Indeed, I already have an idea of how we could do this). But first I think that we should address the stylistic concerns that have been raised on this page. Ederchil, I will look into the magnifying glass matter and maybe play around with different ideas. Mith, would you prefer to see the thumbnails completely removed? Or would you rather that we come up with an original design? Also, I would like to justify my reasoning behind Portal:Languages: I personally don't see what else could be included on such a portal and I've merely implemented the only idea that has ever been put forward; it's lopsided because I simply split each column A-M and N-Z (13 and 13) - as Morgan continues to work on his dictionary project, the length of each side will change. -- KingAragorn  talk  contribs  edits  email  15:01, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
I don't miss the featured features that much. Another small stylistic concern about the thumbs though - can't they be closer together? Maybe I'm too used to the wikia look, but is does feel prettier (and maybe you can save some vertical room on Races). --Ederchil (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 16:09, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

Shouldn't Dates have a portal page too? --Amroth 19:06, 1 January 2012 (UTC)

No.-- KingAragorn  talk  contribs  edits  email  19:44, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
