Notable events in this year include:
- Learning that the Silmaril is in Doriath, the Sons of Fëanor hold council; Maedhros restrains his brethren.[1]
- King Dior receives a message, where the return of the Jewel to the possession of the House of Fëanor is demanded, but he gives no answer.[1][2]
