Donato Giancola (born 1967) is an American artist specializing in science-fiction and fantasy illustrations, especially Tolkien-related depictions. The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings were the first books he read for pleasure and "they left an impression so deep on my psyche that they are forever a standard to which other novels are compared." His proudest achievement artistically has been The Hobbit: Explusion.
