Burned Dwarves was a name given in memoriam to those Dwarves who died, and were burned on wooden pyres after the Battle of Azanulbizar. Any Dwarf whose relative was killed in the battle would proudly say he was a Burned Dwarf. Balin and Dwalin's father Fundin, Thorin's younger brother Frerin and Dain's father Náin were all among the Burned Dwarves of Azanulbizar.[1]
