History

After being hold for four centuries, the Siege of Angband was broken in the year F.A. 455. Morgoth released great fires and the dragon Glaurung against the armies in what is known as the Dagor Bragollach. The Sons of Fëanor suffered several assaults in their territories in East Beleriand. Maedhros and Maglor fought in the Hill of Himring, which did not fall, but the armies of Orcs splitted and many went south through the Aglon Pass and the March of Maedhros. In Aglon, Celegorm and Curufin had many forces, mostly horsed archers, but they were overthrown.[1]

Despite the armies of Morgoth took the Pass with high losses, Celegorm and Curufin ran southwards to Nargothrond, increasing the armies of King Finrod. Maedhros achieved great military deeds in those times, even retaking the Pass of Aglon for a time.[2]
