Aeglos (spear)
From Tolkien Gateway
(See also Aeglos, a type of plant)
Aeglos(Sind. for 'Icicle') was the name for the spear of Gil-galad. It was broken when Gil-galad fell in combat against Sauron himself, on the slopes of Mount Doom T.A. 3431.
The spear is also spelled Aiglos in The Lord of the Rings, but according to The Lord of the Rings: A Reader's Companion, Aeglos is in fact the more correct spelling.
