ÑGOL is an Elvish root signifying "dark-hued, dark-brown".[1]

Other versions of the legendarium

In the Etymologies appears the roots ÑGOL, signifying "wise, wisdom, be wise", and ÑGOLOD, signifying "one of the wise folk, Gnome".[2]
